Mark Wahlberg sells lavish Beverly Park mega-mansion for $55 million

Mark Wahlberg recently sold his Beverly Park mega-mansion for $55 million, which is the most expensive home sale in Southern California this year. This is significantly less than the $87.5 million he was asking for last year.

Wahlberg, who starred in the 2022 films “Uncharted” and “Father Stu,” moved to Nevada last year to start afresh with his kids. He spent $15.6 million on a vacant plot in a luxury community near Las Vegas, as reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

By closing the deal in February, he was able to avoid a hefty tax bill of $3.025 million under Measure ULA, which would have charged a 5.5% transfer tax starting April 1.

Wahlberg had owned the property for more than ten years. He paid $8.25 million for the land in 2009 and hired Richard Landry, a mega-mansion master, to build the French-inspired palace. Landry finished the project five years later.

The opulent three-story house has 12 bedrooms, 20 bathrooms, and extravagant spaces, such as a grand entry with dual staircases, a two-story library, a movie theater, a wine cellar, and a gym.

The 6.2-acre estate also features a driving range, skate park, grotto-style swimming pool, and a five-hole golf course with sand traps. Wahlberg, who is originally from Massachusetts, added a Boston Celtics-themed basketball court to the property.
